For over 75 years, the Camp Crystal Lake Outdoor Education Program has given students, teachers, and parents from Alachua County  the opportunity to learn in a “classroom without walls.”

It is our goal to create an experiential environment where 2nd and 5th grade students are able to develop an appreciation, knowledge and understanding of North Central Florida’s ecosystems. Students will also have the opportunity to experience community learning and team building.

The information below will help teachers and chaperones prepare for their day at camp. We are looking to forward hosting your class at Camp Crystal.

Activities

Your class will participate in some of the following activities while at camp: A bus ride, ecosystem hike, hayride, a visit to our museum to learn about animal habitats, adaptations and taxidermy as well as lunch in our dining hall.

Schedule

The activities and the order of the activities can change depending on the climate and the needs of a specific group. School groups arrive at Camp Crystal Lake around 9:30 am and leave camp no later than 12:30 pm.

Menu

Lunch options for the 2nd grade trip generally includes a Cheese Pizza Stromboli, Fresh Baby Carrots w/ ranch, Applesauce cup, and milk/water.
