5th Grade

Welcome 5th grade teachers, parents, and students. We are looking forward to your field trip and hope the information below will help you prepare for your three days at camp.

Activities
Hands-on science lessons, archery or swimming, team building, ecosystems and night hikes, campfire with story and s’mores, nighttime hayride, kitchen patrol, flex-time (recess) and an ice cream social.

The typical menu for the 5th grade trip is as follows:

Lunch – Day 1:

  • Turkey dog on a whole-wheat bun
  • Baked beans
  • Fresh fruit
  • Cookie
  • Milk
  • Condiments


Dinner – Day 1:

  • Spaghetti with meat sauce or marinara sauce
  • Tossed salad with dressing
  • Garlic bread
  • Mixed fruit
  • Drink


Breakfast – Day 2:

  • Waffle with butter and syrup
  • Sausage patty
  • Milk
  • Juice


Lunch – Day 2:

  • Cheeseburger on a whole-wheat bun
  • Lettuce & tomato
  • Sweet potato tots
  • Fresh fruit
  • Cookie
  • Milk
  • Condiments


Dinner – Day 2:

  • Oven baked chicken
  • Potato (baked, au gratin or mashed) or rice
  • Vegetable
  • Roll or cornbread
  • Ice cream
  • Drink

Breakfast – Day 3:

  • Egg patty or turkey sausage
  • Biscuit
  • Milk
  • Juice

Lunch – Day 3:

  • Pizza
  • Romaine salad with dressing
  • Fresh fruit
  • Cookie
  • Milk

Vegetarian options for lunch and dinner include: grilled cheese, black bean burgers, veggie burgers and PB&J.

If your child is attending the fifth grade trip and they have dietary restrictions or food allergies please let both your child’s teacher and Camp Crystal Lake know prior to the first day of your child’s trip to camp. Most restrictions can be accommodated with a little support from home.
